Cranford Soccer Club

Helping foster the enhancement and development of soccer for Cranford residents of all ages and abilities

Overview of Programs

The Cranford Soccer Club (CSC) offers a wide variety of Soccer Programs which cater to all ages, abilities and interests. Some programs are based on birth year, while others based on grade level.

Recreation

Cranford Soccer Club’s Recreation program offers a series of introductory soccer sessions aimed at children from U5  to U8 . The sessions are geared towards a fun soccer experience while introducing our most junior club members to the game and how it's played. These programs will provide a challenging, yet welcoming environmental suitable for all players regardless of commitment, experience or ability. Upon completion of the Rec program, players will be ready to advance into travel or intercountry.

Intercounty Soccer

Intercounty (IC) Soccer is a semi-competitive program with players competing against neighboring towns all within a 30-minute drive from Cranford. Games are usually held on Saturdays. There are no team tryouts and all players receive significant playing time. Age groups are U9, U11, U13, U15 & HS (only U9 is a single birthyear age-group) for boys & girls. Each league age group has multiple "flights" of team skill so matches are more evenly played during the season. Intercounty & Travel player age-group eligibility (birthyear based) is strictly determined by our governing body NJYS & its affiliated leagues.

Travel Soccer

Travel soccer is CSC’s most competitive soccer program. Formal tryouts are held when forming teams, and players are expected to participate in both the Fall and Spring seasons. Playing time is determined by the coach and games are usually played on Sundays against club teams across the state. Travel player age-group eligibility (birthyear based) is strictly determined by our governing body NJYS & its affiliated leagues (MNJYSA, EDP).

Additional programs & offerings may be introduced throughout the year based on demand and player needs.

Terms & Refund Policies
- Once a player is registered, there are no refunds. When a player is registered, they are filling a player/training slot that someone else cannot use. This policy reflects your commitment to register for a program – and taking a player roster space from another child – only if you are certain participate.

There are exceptions:
1.
In the event that CSC is unable to place the registered player on a team/clinic (i.e. clinic cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances) then 100% will be refunded.
2. In the event that a program was listed during registration with a SPECIFIC TIME that was later changed by 6+ hours (i.e. Saturday 9am clinic changed to Saturday 3pm) then 80% of your registration cost will be refunded upon request to cancel the registration.

The following exceptions do not qualify, but can be requested & evaluated on a case-by-case basis:
A. 15-days prior to season/clinic start date, request to refund 50% of the registration cost due to personal hardship (lost job, relocation, child requires tutoring, etc.)
B. Request to refund 100% of the registration cost due to documented medical condition (from a state-licensed physician) that will cause the player to miss the ENTIRE season.
C. 14-days prior to season/clinic start date or later, a prorated refund no more than 75% due to documented medical condition (from a state-licensed physician) that causes the player to miss the ENTIRE season.

Refund Policy for Travel Soccer - No refunds provided for any registered Travel player since travel teams are formed for the entire year (Fall & Spring) with paid trainers hired prior to team formation.

Past Due Balance Ineligibility & Financial Assistance Policy - Players with a past due balance due are ineligible to participate in CSC activities until their financial obligation has been resolved, unless assistance has been requested and/or payment plan has been established. This includes team assignment, practices, training, games and/or referee assignments (as a USSF referee). CSC asks families to communicate directly with us in a timely manner to work out any financial issues. We do not want to be put in a position where we are forced to keep a player from playing. Recreation and Intercounty program players will not be placed on a roster until all family balances have been paid (I.e. player cleared from waitlist & invoice left paid). Travel players will not be placed on a roster for the fall season until all family balances have been paid (i.e. first or second installment failed, unpaid tournament or additional training fees, etc.). In the event a travel player’s past due remains unpaid mid-season that travel player’s pass will be suspended for the spring season until all family balances have been paid.
