Cranford Winter 3v3 League is Back!!

Good morning parents and guardians,

The Cranford Soccer Club Winter 3v3 League is back by popular demand!  Last year we had over 160 kids registered for this winter league and we had to turn kids away.  We are looking to at least match that number this year. Last year we sent out a survey to all participants about their experience with the league and we received 60 responses back.  All 60 said their kids enjoyed the program. We also received other good feedback which we will be taking into consideration this year in hopes of improving the program. Here’s a summary of the 3v3 league.

How does this work?

We will be forming teams of 4-6 kids based on gender and grade. 3rd and 4th graders (and eligible 2nd graders) will play in one division together, 5th & 6th in another division and 7th & 8th in the last division.  (Registration for a separate winter program for kids in pre-K through 2nd grade will open up shortly.)  For any kids currently in second grade but playing in our Intercounty or Travel programs will be allowed to participate as well.

Scores / Standings:

Scores will be kept for the 5th/6th and 7th/8th grade divisions only. The scores will be reported to the Winter League Committee and standings will be kept.

We will have a playoff on the final Sunday of the season. The winner of the 5th/6th and 7th/8th grade divisions will receive a trophy.

$90 per player. Includes a team shirt.  Last year the jersey’s were a huge hit. I can assure you they will be a hit again this year!  Make sure you select your child’s jersey size during registration!

Sundays: 1/5, 1/12, 1/26, 2/2, 2/9, 2/23, and 3/1

Game times:

Games may be scheduled anytime between 9:00 am and 3:30 pm. Your child will play back-to-back games so the time commitment is only 60 minutes per week.  We are attempting to schedule 3rd/4th graders between 11:00 am - 1:00 pm; 5th/6th from 12:00 - 2:00 pm; and 7th/8th from 2:00 - 4:00pm.

Who is eligible to play?

* Anyone currently enrolled in either Travel or Intercounty

* Any player born between 2005 and 2011 up to 8th grade

* Any child who doesn’t play for a Cranford Soccer Club team but resides in Cranford

* If your family has an open balance with the Cranford Soccer Club, they will not be placed on a team until the balance is paid in full or alternative arrangements are made.

Team formation:

A small group of CSC board members and program coordinators will help in forming balanced teams.

Who coaches?

Like last year, we will be asking kids from the girls and boys high school soccer teams to help coach teams. It was a big success last year.

We will be hiring high school aged kids to referee games.  It is our intention is to hire certified referees only.

Given space and time confinements, capacity for this program will be limited. We will do our best to accommodate as many kids as possible, but please don’t procrastinate. It is all but guaranteed we will hit our maximum capacity so register today!  While this league is meant to be fun and low key, we would hope your kids can attend as close to 8 weeks of sessions as possible.
